The workshop will be an opportunity to learn about of three different aspects of the PASCAL2 activities. The first part of the workshop will comprise summaries of the results of the mini-research projects funded by the PASCAL2 Network of Excellence under its 'pump-priming' programme. These projects are intended to build collaborations and support cross-disciplinary research that is at a proof of principle stage. The aim is to enable researchers to develop the research to enable applications for main stream funding. After lunch the leaders of the current Thematic Programmes around which PASCAL2 research is structured will present their overview of progress and future plans in their respective areas. Finally, the second half of the afternoon will see the official launch of the Knowledge 4 All Foundation, a charitable organisation set up to coordinate strategic planning inspired by and supporting the provision of free academic content exemplified by VideoLectures.net.
